Designed to power laser diodes or LEDs from batteries or other power sources.​ Major improvements and differences from BlackBuck 3/6 drivers: Extended range of output current adjustment High-side design Improved soft-start Ceramic fuse for reverse polarity protection Larger potentiometer Thermal areas on the back side for better heat transfer/dissipation Specifications: Supply voltage ........................ 6...14V Output current (+/- 5%) .................... 0...5800mA Load forward voltage.............. 1.5...6V ** Power ON rising time ................ 250ms Board overheat protection .... 140ºC Max dimensions ..................... 30x22x3.5mm Main dimensions .................... 10x16x3.5mm * - The supply voltage must exceed the forward voltage of the load by not less than 1V. Typical connection example ACS1500SE Laser diode driver Lock input - this input is used to control the driver. You can turn off the driver by applying a logic0 level to the input or turn it on by applying a logic1 level. This input is tolerant to 3.3/5V signals and internally pulled up to logic1 level. Leave it to float if you do not use external control. This input does not support fast PWM. Recommendations for soldering and heatsinking: The customer must have soldering skills because the pads have a small size and careless soldering can damage the driver. Use only neutral soldering flux and low-temperature solder in order to avoid overheating of the PCB. Observe the rules of antistatic protection, the driver is ESD sensitive.
