Guilty Conscience

I remember this movie from years ago and being suspenseful and smart. Particularly since it was a made for TV movie. The only issue I have is with the quality of the DVD which appears to be transferred from a VHS tape of the movie and not of the highest quality. Based on the price I paid for it, which was less than a dollar, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Regardless, at least I am able to see it again since they never replay in on TV ever. Why is that? So many great movies have been made over the years,and only the same old movies are played over and over ad nauseam.

Please note that the 4-star rating is for the movie itself. The quality of the recording is a major let-down. This appears to be a transfer from a commercial VHS (complete with FBI warnings) to DVD. Unfortunately, it appears either the source VHS had issues or there were technical issues with the equipment. In some places the audio isn't understandable, and the picture is pretty bad throughout. It is too bad, because the movie itself is excellent. wit a great cast, and a nice twist at the end.

3 stars for the concept of the movie. It's a great little gem but unfortunately the quality is really bad. Bought a copy a few years ago at a dollar store, the quality was bad but not this bad. Hopefully someone will issue another copy that we can actually see and hear.

Drama, suspense & terrific acting at it's height. Tony gives another incredible performance. I love it when a film is done in theatre stage style which this is...the complexity of what Arthur (Hopkins) is thinking, reasoning & scheming keeps you on the edge of your seat, and yet with touches of Hitchcock-styled Humor....humor in planing 2 murder your wife?? This film pulls it off & keeps u guessing how will it end??...How? Watch how & see if you can pull it off with or without a GUILTY CONSCIENCE!!

We just turned the color/tint to black and white to make it tolerable to watch this DVD. I don't know what the problem is, if this was a VHS some company just used to transfer or what. I Don't know much about PDC Entertainment but Echo Bridge should know better than put out this crap.

I haven't watched yet. I am set for poor quality as all reviews are clear not best dvd. Also reviews say a VERY good Anthony Hopkins film so I doubt I will care if I need to squint and turn up full volumn. Thank you for having in first place ;0) never had heard of

Unfortunately Amazon makes me give this review at least one star...I purchased this movie having read the synopsis and thought it sounded interesting - this is how I buy most of my movies, whether it is at a local used store, first hand, or online through Amazon or ebay. I received this movie and the others I purchased at the same time sometime back in October. Having just gotten around to watching it, I have realized it was an utter waste of my time and money. I did not even get 5 minutes into the movie because the video quality was horrific. It looks like it was originally recorded from TV feed back when it first aired or became available. The picture if fuzzy and has vertical hold problems. There were also the corresponding audio "blips" that go with vertical hold problems. There is no way a professional studio would have released this as a projection of their life's work. I had some sneaking suspicions when I received it and saw the cover art, but I figured it was a budget movie - Ha! I guess it truly was!Unfortunately for me, it has been too long since I bought it that I cannot find who my seller was. I am horrified that I wasted money on this particular movie. I have a stack of movies I bought that I am no longer interested in that I plan to sell, and I would feel horrible selling this particular one and duping another unwitting customer.

I first came across this movie back in the day. I recorded it on a VHS when they were king of the Hill. I transferred it to a DVD to keep the copy because I love it so. I thought Anthony Hopkins played a psycho law, but he was still psycho in plotting to kill his wife for another woman. The ending was so surprising that I had to keep my old copy of it. Now I have a clear cut of professional transferring to DVD and I purchased it. I will not reveal any more of this movie because I cannot spoil it for you. Please get it and you will not be disappointed of the ending. Justice was served! Oops! Did I give you a hint?

No he podido ver más que unos minutos de película ya que toda la imagen es de muy mala calidad e incluso hay muchas tomas que se ven borrosas. Parece claramente una película pirata de lo más burdo.

Absolutely a watchable film. Ofc Hopkins makes a lovely character as a smart and intellectual lawyer. One can relate to inner dialogue.
