If this is what it takes to get my son playing piano again - than it is a major win in my book. He loves it and that means I love it!

My son is enjoying the music in this book.

The arrangements are in the original key, in most cases, which makes it possible to sing along! However, not all of the arrangements sound like the actual song in all places, and it takes some tinkering to actually replicate my favorites. Still, it's nice that someone did the hard work of writing the sheet music, and it comes in a nice book which stays functionally open on the piano. The selection of songs is great, too.

So why only 3*? It literally won't stay open on my piano's music rack! The binding makes it a nice coffee table book, but that doesn't do much good. Of course, that wouldn't apply to the Kindle edition, which is what I'm going to try next time. Hopefully, I'll be able to find a third party print utility.But otherwise, what I was able to play sounded pretty good, even if only one hand at a time. And for the most part, this is a collection of songs that sound OK on solo piano or solo piano with vocal. They won't sound like the original, of course, but it's not like music from a decade that I won't mention that was all about style over substance; if you aren't using the right synth sound or the right distortion pedal or the right reverb on the snare or wearing the right clothes you won't even recognize what you're trying to play. And complete enough to give garage band musicians a good starting point.It really does make a good coffee table book, though.

It has a nice selection and was in great shape.

Ok, so I accidentally bought the ebook version of this, which is nobody's fault but my own. However, even on my Mac, the words are much too small to read with no way to zoom in properly. Some of the pages are blurry. The songs featured are pretty good–Weezer, Death Cab for Cutie, The Killers, Imagine Dragons, Ben Folds, Keane, Beck, Kings of Leon, Black Keys, etc. Just wish I could actually see it. Do yourself a favor and buy the paperback version.
