Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part I is the seventh movie in the Harry Potter series, and the first part of the final chapter in the saga. Directed by David Yates, this film stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson. The final novel in the series on which the movies are based, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows is large book that completely chronicles Harry and his friends final journey towards defeating Voldemort, and the decision was made to split the story into a two-part film. This is the first part. It follows Harry and his friends, and Voldemort and his followers, as they prepare for the final confrontation between the two camps. As the threat from the Death-Eaters escalates, Harry is escorted from his Privet Drive home to the Burrows by the Order of The Phoenix. Many of the Order members take a special potion to morph themselves into Harry, to act as decoys while the real Harry is hopefully allowed to reach his destination safely. As expected, they are attacked by the enemy. However, Harry arrives safely at the Burrows and they start preparing for the war that they know is looming ahead. Voldemort is also preparing for the inevitable showdown. He takes Draco’s wand for himself, as his own wand cannot be used against Harry’s wand. The Minister of Magic, Rufus Scrimgeour, then meets Harry, Hermione, and Ron and gives them the items that Albus Dumbledore bequeathed to them in his will. Harry gets the first Golden Snitch that he ever caught in Quidditch. Ron receives Dumbledore’s Deluminator, and Hermione is given the book, The Tales Of Beedle The Bard. Voldemort’s followers kill Scrimgeour and seize control of the Ministry of Magic and begin persecuting wizards, especially the muggle-born ones. Harry, Ron, and Hermione go off in search of the remaining Horcruxes that Voldemort created. They manage to get hold of one of them, a locket, but are unable to destroy it. They decide to take turns wearing it in the hope of reducing its power. The three of them then hide out in the wilderness while trying to locate the other Horcruxes. They encounter a mysterious symbol that appears several times in other places. Then they meet Xenophilius Lovegood who tells them that the symbol stands for the Deathly Hallows. They find out that Voldemort is also in search of the Deathly Hallows, because whoever has all three of them is the master of Death, and cannot be killed. The Deathly Hallows are three mystical objects that the trio are already familiar with - the Resurrection Stone, the Elder Wand, and the Invisibility Cloak. Who will find the Hallows, and will the trio manage to find the remaining Horcruxes, destroy them, and kill Voldemort?
