Smart & neat
I bought this to replace a Wirquin push button. The cable actuator part is a bit too tight to fit the Wirquin cable actuator but this was easily solved by enlarging the hole in the actuator very slightly with a drill. I made the cut-out in my tank housing cover large enough to allow a flush fit of this new button, tis gives a far better look and feel than using the somewhat large collar type mountings these items are supplied with. Operates smoothly and am very pleased, would recommend.

Check this review for compatibility information.
So, the nasty 'chrome' plastic button on your loo has fallen apart and you’re wondering if this might replace it. You have a 'cable' type flush mechanism (no direct push rods) and you’re not really looking for a review, because you know it’s going to be a similarly rubbish piece of plastic, you just need some help because the tech spec provided is too vague. OK, there’s a tip to help you possibly repair the broken button below but here is the product information you actually need to check if this replacement is suitable (all dimensions within about 1mm):Body diameter (excluding optional shroud): 37mmBody height: 23mm + threaded ‘stem’ of 30mm.The threaded stem terminates with a 10mm long locating lug for a clip-on cable connector.Stem dia: 12mm, Plunger dia: 9mm, Plunger ‘throw’ (full flush): 12mm.If the above dimensions, especially the stem, are a close match to your broken button then there’s a good chance this product will be right for your system. The quality will be no better than the plastic unit you are replacing but at least you won’t have to change the whole flush system and the the job will only take a few minutes. My supplier was FixTheBog (£7.15) and speed of delivery were faultless hence 5 stars.Tip: if the original flimsy plastic button has failed because the base of the body simply broken away then you might try using the solvent for jointing waste pipes to fix it back in place. You’ll need to clean it up with light sanding and also line the base up exactly as originally fitted (not 180 deg out!). Make sure you assemble the plunger and spring into the body first. Smear the adhesive carefully and push-fit the base to the body in one smooth movement, hold firmly till fixed (a minute or two). NB: This is only worth trying if you already have the adhesive, as it is as expensive as buying this part.

Old Woman fixes loo
My husband could do anything plumbing, joinery, brickwork, so now I had a problem, (broken toilet push button flush!) As a practical old bird I had to fix it myself or maybe wait six weeks or more for an expensive plumber! The old screw thread had become corroded on to the plastic holder and had to be got out or the whole unit might have to be replaced and proved a big problem. This is where I took the flush mechanism apart to, hopefully, descale it so as to get new push button through. A good soaking with Cif Bathroom cleaner and hey presto nice clean plastic holder! Put it all back together and fit new button, saving me a fortune. If an old WOMAN can do it with a bit of ingenuity and household cleaner, then anyone can!!!!!!!!!!!!

Easy installation
I bought this to replace a broken one which had been modified by a bathroom installer, perhaps unnecessarily. It was easy to install which made up for the fact that its identical predecessor lasted only three years. It is silver coated plastic, not metal, but is cheap enough for this to not be a concern.

I can finally flush my troubles away!
Yes. Now my loo is fixed and I can flush without taking the lid off the cistern. I wish I’d bought this 4 months ago!
